I am convinced that the Instant Pot is the absolute BEST, most AMAZING small kitchen appliance EVER MADE!

You might be wondering what an Instant Pot actually is.  It’s one small kitchen appliance that acts as an electric pressure cooker, a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a sautéing pan, a yogurt maker, a steamer and a warming pot.  The Instant Pot is also portable, so you can use it at home or while on the go.

It’s not your Mom or Grandma’s kind of old style pressure cooker, where it looks like it could explode at any time.  The Instant Pot is much safer and much more user friendly.

The Instant Pot has 10 Proven Safety Mechanisms, including the following:

  • Pressure Regulator Protection
  • Anti-Blockage Vent
  • Leaky Lid Protection
  • Extreme Temperature & Power Protection
  • Excess Pressure Protection
  • Safety Indicator & Lid Lock
  • Lid Close Detection
  • Automatic Pressure Control
  • Automatic Temperature Control
  • High Temperature Warning

There are numerous meals you can make in the Instant Pot.  You can make chili, roasts, soups, ribs, spaghetti, baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rice and much more!  You can even make cheesecake, caramel and yogurt!

You can even sauté your vegetables and meat in the Instant Pot prior to using the manual (pressure cooker) setting, which is nice because you are only getting ONE pot dirty.

The best thing about the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker setting, is that once you put all of your ingredients in and set the timer, you don’t touch it again until the timer goes off telling you that your food is ready.

Even then, depending on the recipe, you either do a natural release of pressure and let the pressure release on its own or you do a manual release of pressure where you manually adjust the valve from sealing to venting which allows the pressure to release faster.

In both the natural and manual pressure release options, you must wait until all of the pressure has been released before you open the lid of the Instant Pot.

The amount of time it takes to cook a meal in the Instant Pot with the electric pressure cooker setting is simply amazing.  Recipes that used to take hours to cook in the slow cooker take just minutes in the Instant Pot.

It is much more efficient than using a stove, oven or slow cooker to cook your meals. For those of us who don’t have the time or energy to stand at the stove and cook a good meal every night for our families, this is a lifesaver!

Clean up is a breeze as well.  The stainless steel inner pot where you put the food is dishwasher safe.  I don’t know about you, but anytime I can put something in the dishwasher it’s an added bonus!

So if you’re a busy mom like me, working a full time job, in addition to raising your kids, running them to sports practices, helping with homework and trying to provide them with a good meal every night, the Instant Pot is a must!  I’m so glad I bought mine, you will be, too!

    1. Shannon, you will LOVE your Instant Pot when you get it! Since I bought mine, my husband has made ribs, a chicken ranch pasta and chili in ours because he wanted to try it! Definitely cuts down on cooking times! Good Luck! Thank you for your comment! 🙂

  1. I’ve got the old style pressure cooker for canning and it’s really not as dangerous as my mother and grandmother claimed (as long as you follow the safety procedures) but I definitely want to add an Instant Pot to my kitchen.

    1. Michelle, I was always hesitant to buy the old style pressure cooker, but the Instant Pot is so versatile that we make many meals in it. You definitely can’t go wrong with it! Thank you for your comment! 🙂
